Volunteering

Volunteering is the lifeblood of so many communities.

By giving just a few hours to share your time, knowledge and passion to help others, you can change the world – and learn something for yourself along the way.

Here are a few examples of the volunteering opportunities available. To search other vacancies and apply, visit the Portsmouth Together website.

Fundraising Group Member

Meet new people, learn new skills and make a real difference by volunteering for British Heart Foundation. Their Community Fundraising Groups consist of volunteers who come together in their local communities to hold exciting fundraising events, raise awareness and have a lot of fun while they do it!

Side By Side Befriender

The Alzheimer’s Society are looking for patient and understanding Side by Side volunteers. You’ll help people living with dementia keep doing the things they love. You will enable them to stay connected in their communities and build their confidence to stay active and engaged in social and recreational activities.

Witness Service Volunteer

Witness Service is part of Citizens Advice and they have a team in every criminal court in England and Wales. Outreach volunteers prepare witnesses who feel more vulnerable by meeting them in their local communities. They help witnesses feel safe, informed about the court processes and able to give their best evidence.

If none of these opportunities are quite right for you, drop us a line to find out what else is available.
